Wings

By Allen Lyle

We all have gifts or talents. Sometimes, we have to do some digging to find them, but, rest assured, you have them! This week, Allen Lyle offers some inspiration by comparing our talents with the wings of birds.

TRANSCRIPT:

We can learn some wonderful lessons from nature. For example, even though all birds have wings, not all birds can fly.

Consider the ostrich, the emu, the penguin, or the kiwi. All flightless birds, but their wings serve a very useful purpose, like balance.

Just like the birds, we all have our own “wings.” Some of us soar high in the sky, while others of us shine in ways unseen. Remember, being grounded doesn’t mean you lack ability.

So, when you feel like you're "on a wing and a prayer," believe in yourself. And, just like "every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings," remember that every challenge you face gives you a chance to grow and improve your balance.

Learn to appreciate your unique gifts…. discover the purpose of your wings and know that you have the power to make a difference; and when you get right down to it, isn’t that what all of our lives SHOULD be about? Making a difference?

Whatever wings you have, they are perfect for you.

Spread your wings and let your spirit soar.
