A Lesson from Groundhog Day

By Allen Lyle

This week, Gene Williams looks at Groundhog Day with a different twist. What can we take away from the iconic Bill Murray movie that will improve our work skills?

TRANSCRIPT:

January is nearly over. That means it’s almost Groundhog Day. While some view this day as an indication as to how much more winter weather we’ll have, others only think of the movie where Bill Murray is trapped in an endless loop of living the same day. Can you imagine doing the same thing over and over again?

While the movie is a great comedy, the idea of repetition is actually a wonderful cognitive tool to develop. Repetition solidifies your knowledge and cultivates expertise. It helps optimize, enhance, and speed up your performance and comprehension. Embrace your inner groundhog. Improve your work skills with repetition.
